Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it

I understand that LeBron was all of the Cleaveland Cavaliers and his decision to leave hurt them, but why is Dan Gilbert so overly upset? When it comes down to it the NBA is not all about the biggest contract. When you have made millions over the course of 7 years there is only one thing left to do: Championship Hunting. That's basically what it came down to. LeBron had enough money and not enough rings. Gilbert should not take it so personally. He should have surrounded LeBron with a championship caliber team. Then "The Decision" would have been made for him.
